This application doesn't appear to be available anymore, therefore its compatibility is questionable since new operating systems have been released, but the application didn't receive any updates at all, making impossible to troubleshoot errors.
I strongly recommend to use another application instead of the Yahoo Mail one because you will have better support and besides that, they're all updated.

If you don't have access to neither of the recovery methods, then the account is lost for good since Yahoo implements a strict policy about these things. Security questions are the most important recovery feature that is used to recover your account. If you can't remember these questions, you cannot recover your account.

The Yahoo Mail will be installed as an add-on on your computer through the Yahoo Messenger. Make sure to leave all the settings as they are when you install the application. Yahoo Mail will be installed as add-on. The first time you access it, you should be asked to make Yahoo Mail the default client that handles the email links in your computer. You can download Yahoo Messenger from its official page.
Check if the name of the files you want to attach have special characters (#, $, /, etc.). Rename those files, save them and try again. Clear your browser cache, cookies and temporary files and try to disable your security software. Also, check the troubleshooting guide provided by Yahoo Help Team.
